So I’ve been missing my normal gourmet style of food, and this week it’s on it’s way back. I also have the luxury of hitting up the amazing farmer’s market this week! I also have been learning to adjust my Monday and Wednesday meals so that they’re a little easier–those are busy nights for us! I find that I am constantly learning how to plan meals better, and, even then, likes and wishes change with our moods. Well, enjoy.
Friday–Leftover meal from last week
Saturday–Franciscan night potluck style–I’m bringing Sausage and Potato soup
Sunday–Cajun Blackened Chicken Salad (much of this will be fresh from the farmer’s market!)
Monday–Scrambled Eggs and Cinnamon Rolls AKA “Eggs and Rolls” as I termed my very favorite meal when I was 3 years old
Tuesday–Twice Baked Potatoes
Wednesday–Teriyaki Chicken Bowls (Teriyaki Chicken, Steamed Broccoli and Steamed Rice)
Thursday–Sage Pork Chops w/ creme fraiche, mesquite mixed veggies
Update: While at the grocery store, I decided to switch the creme fraiche in thursday’s dinner to marscapone. It seemed to blend better with the sage in the dish. Also, I am steaming the broccoli in wednesday night’s dinner over red tea. When I was at the Farmer’s market, I picked up red and yellow bell peppers, zucchini, half a pound of mixed baby greens with edible flowers, green onions, a red onion, red seedless grapes, fuji apples and some Beckman’s California black bread for $15.00. Oh, and all of it is locally grown and organic! All I can say is that I love the farmer’s market!
From Aaron:
This is by far the best menu yet!!!! I can’t wait to eat the Sausage and Potato soup saturday. What are twice baked potatoes? Are they extra crispy or am I missing something? At least there aren’t any “frilly” things on this menu (not that frilly is bad).

From Jenny:
Good menu-yay! So you bake the potatoes for an hour and then scoop the potato out of the skins. Then you mix the potato with sour cream, cheddar and crumbled bacon. You fill the skins back up with all the yummy potato mix and bake them for 10 more minutes. It’s unbelievably tasty! Oh, and the potato soup I’m making tomorrow was my favorite soup (that my mom would make) growing up. I just bought the oktoberfest style bratwurst to go in it–I think you’ll like it!
From Slacker Mom (aka Mrs. G.F.):
Looks great. I love breakfast for supper nights. We love having pumpkin pancakes on those. And yum, cajun blackened chicken, I need to make that soon.
