Going Home Today!
We get to go home today!!!
I had a great feeling this morning when the amount of protein being released by my kidneys came back as negative aka nothing. (To compare, 36 hrs ago I had the second highest level of protein that the test could read, and I was on a fast track for a c-section within a matter of hours.) The dr this morning still told me that regardless of this news I would still be here till he was born. This was a little disappointing, but we just wanted to do whatever it took to keep Ethan healthy.
Well I’m not sure what specifically changed their minds, but my perinatologist came in this morning and said that I was stable enough to spend the rest of my time at home on strict bed rest and move my delivery goal up to 37 weeks.
With that said, I can’t say enough how much all of your thoughtfulness and prayers have meant to us. Things have turned around so drastically in unexpected ways in such a short amount of time that we can’t help but see God’s hand in it. And even though we know His hand would have been equally in a plan that included an early birth and the nicu, we feel so blessed to have this extra time for him to grow and mature and for me to be able to spend that time at home.
I probably won’t see most of you until after Ethan’s born, but feel free to email anytime. I’ll be machine and IV free, which will make contact much easier.
